NOUMEA WEEKEND 2008
Since October 2005, AMFA has promoted a weekend event in New Caledonia (Noumea)
with the collaboration and participation of Colleagues at the Hospital Gaston Bourret de Noumea
and of special guests associated with French speaking medical science.

Due to the Rugby World Cup in 2007, the next Noumea weekend will be held in October 2008:

"The Noumea-Australia French speaking Health conference”
with key Clinicians from Sydney (RPA, St Vincent’s Hospital) Canberra ,Melbourne
and indeed from Noumea (Hopital Gaston Bourret) will take place at
NOUVATA Hotel/Noumea

Dr Best is a Sports Physician with the Orthosports Group in Sydney. He was the Australian Team (Wallabies) team physician from 1994-2000 including both the 1995 World Cup and the 1999 World Cup tournament
when the Wallabies were world champions.
He was Medical Director to Australian Rugby in 2000-2001, and acted as Sports Science Consultant for their High-Performance Unit in 2000 and 2002. He enjoyed the honour of being appointed as the Tournament Medical Officer for Rugby World Cup 2003. He has researched and published data on rugby injuries.
Dr Best will present information on Rugby Union - the game, its injuries and its culture.
The focus will be on what to expect in France during Rugby World Cup 2007!!
