On pourrait imaginer l'AMFA comme une corde faite de plusieurs brins entrelacés qui remonte aux années 60. L'AMFA a été officiellement créé en 1972 et compte parmi ses createurs: Kevin Bleasel, René Morin, Stuart Renwick, Tony Cronin, John Allsop et Georges Everard.

Les réunions se tenaient aux domiciles des membres de l'association. Les presentations en français, données par des membres ou conferenciers invites, etaient generalement suivies d'un dîner. Lorsque l'association s'est agrandie, les réunions ont eu lieu à la clinique Saint-Vincent, et plus tard à l'Alliance Française de Sydney. L'association maintient des liens étroits avec les membres de Nouvelle-Calédonie et a effectué plusieurs visites à Nouméa et en Metropole.

En 2012, nous fêterons le 40eme anniversaire de la création de l'AMFA.

One could imagine AMFA as a rope made up of several interlaced strands which stretched back to the 60S’.

The AMFA was officially created in 1972. The creators were Kevin Bleasel, René Morin, Stuart Renwick, Tony Cronin, John Allsop and Georges Everard.

Meetings were held in members’ homes. Talks in French given by a member or a visitor were followed by a dinner. When the group became bigger, meetings were held at Saint Vincent’s clinic and later on at the Alliance Française. The association had strong links with New Caledonia and members made several visits to Noumea as well as one in France.

In 2012, we will celebrate the 40th birthday of the creation of the AMFA
